Review | Matador Daylite16 Backpack

This summer my boyfriend and I are backpacking around Europe for two weeks and plan to pack super light.

My main backpack will be my Osprey Fairview 40L in Rainforest Green.

I figured I would probably need a smaller day bag when we explore the cities during the day, but I didn't want a bag that would take up a lot of space in my Fairview backpack.

After, researching online I found reviews for a packable day backpack made by this company called Matador.

They specialize in packable adventure travel gear.

The Matador Daylite16 Backpack was exactly what I was looking for.

I ordered the bag and decided to test it out on a mini hike with some friends.

I wanted a bag to carry the essentials I would need for the day.

When I'd rather use a small purse or if I'm using my Fairview backpack I would easily be able to pack away the Matador Daylite16 backpack into either of these bags.

Unpacking the Matador Daylite16 Backpack

As you can see this pack can be packed down just to fit in your hand.

Very easy to unpack and I actually was able to pack it back up very easily as well.

The Loves

  • I love that this pack has water bottle pockets, most packable backpacks I looked into did not have this feature.
  • Made of waterproof material
  • Zippers are water resistant
  • When its packed down it fits in the palm of my hand.
  • Fits my laptop, even when it's in its case

The Dislikes

  • When its packed full of heavier items the shoulder straps dig into your shoulders.

Overall Review | ★★★★★

I love this backpack and I'm so happy I purchased it. I've been using it on an everyday basis as well and it is holding up quite nicely. If you're looking for a lightweight packable backpack I would highly recommend this one. I will come out with another review of this backpack after my Europe trip to see how it holds up.
