Dumpling Kitchen | San Francisco, CA

The other night I visited my friend in the Sunset District to go for a run and grab some dinner.

We usually get dumplings from Kingdom of Dumpling which is really good, but very small.

We decided to try a new place on the same street called Dumpling Kitchen

Wait time wasn't too long at all we put down our name around 7 PM on a Sunday and waited for about 10 - 15 mins and got seated.

They were quick to as for our order as most Chinese restaurants are, so that was good.

We ordered a total of four dishes which was more than enough food, but my eyes are always bigger than my stomach, so that's why we ordered so much.

Shanghai-Style Steamed Pork Dumpling | ★★★★★

We tried the Shanghai-style steamed pork dumplings which were their soup pork dumplings.

They reminded me of the soup dumpling from Din Tai Fung but the dumpling skin was not as thin as the dumplings at Din Tai Fung.

The flavor was still really gooooood!

Green Bok Choy with Garlic | ★★★★★

This was easily one of our favorite dishes.

The bok choy was cooked perfectly and the garlic flavoring was just enough.

Sometimes we order vegetable dishes with garlic and the garlic is way too overpowering, but it was perfect in this dish.

Shanghai-Style Pan-Fried Pork Buns | ★★★★★

I enjoyed this dish a lot, but my friend preferred the dumplings version of this instead of the buns.

It's a lot like the soup dumpling just the outside was more bun or bread-like than the thin dumpling skin.

Still very tasty!

Chicken Fried Rice | ★★★★☆

The chicken fried rice was good, but nothing to write home about.

I always feel like chicken fried rice never has enough flavor compared to BBQ pork fried rice.

That was everything we tried and had plenty left over.

Which is good because it makes a couple more meals for the next few days.

Overall Review | ★★★★★

Dumpling Kitchen was great!

They were so fast at getting us seated and getting us our food.

I definitely thought we would have to wait longer for a table on a Sunday night in the Sunset, but it was a super short wait.

I loved everything we tried and definitely want to go back.
